ABOUT THE JOAN NASSOLO FOUNDATION

The Joan Nassolo Foundation (JNF) is a non-profit organization committed to environmental conservation, cultural heritage preservation, and youth empowerment.

Vision:

“To be the leading organization in empowering youth to positively transform their lives and communities through the conservation, protection, and improvement of their environment using a shared cultural heritage approach.”

Mission:

To improve the socio-economic wellbeing of youth and foster a shared cultural heritage approach to environmental conservation in Uganda.

 Objectives:

The initiative aims at achieving the following key objectives:

  • Equip youth with market-driven skills and attitudes to improve their employment opportunities
  • To preserve and protect our positive culture
  • Empower youth to a healthy lifestyle through activity (self-defense lessons) and sports
  • To promote environmental conservation
Her Royal Highness (HRH) Princess Joan Nassolo

Her Royal Highness (HRH) Princess Joan Nassolo is a member of the Buganda Royal Family and is one of Kabaka (King) Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s daughters. Princess Joan’s passions include conservation of culture, the environment, and wildlife and she has a special interest in engaging with the youth and believes in their limitless potential.

She is an Ambassador for Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots Program in Uganda and Ambassador to the Kampala School for the Physically Handicapped.

An avid sports enthusiast with a love for travelling and experiencing new cultures, Princess Joan uses these experiences to learn more about the world. When she is not travelling, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing sports. She holds a title belt for the East and Central Xtra Combat Muay Thai Women’s Championship.

A Communications Specialist, she is also the creator and author of the Legend Of Buganda Comic Book Series.
